Plectrum

A plectrum (also called a pick, plec and sometimes pluck) is overall, a small, thin piece of plastic held in the picking hand used to 'pluck' the strings of the guitar. Most often, they come in the shape of a rounded-off triangle, although some companies manufacture plecs in different shapes and sizes.
